Description A BLUE AND WHITE ARITA PORCELAIN DISH 'LI BAI', EDOJapan, Edo Period (1615-1868), early 19th century. Of lobed form, painted in underglaze blue with the Chinese poet Rihako (Li Bai) gazing at the waterfall emerging from the Lusahn mountains.Condition: Very good condition, minor wear, and manufacturing flaws including spur marks and dark spots.Provenance: From the collection of Teddy Hahn, Darmstadt, and thence by descent to the present owner.
