Description A LOT WITH A LARGE IMARI AND A KUTANI PORCELAIN DISH, MEIJIJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912)The first painted in polychrome enamels and gilt on the show side with a falcon perched on a wooden stick above banners, all within a circle, the rims with a decorative floral border and the underside inscribed 'Japan, Kutani'. The second painted in polychrome enamels and gilt on the show side with a central riverside landscape within a floral band, the rim with cloud-shaped reserves on a brown enameled ground decorated with pine trees, bamboo and plum. The backside with floral scroll and a wish for youth and wealth in underglaze blue.Condition: The first with extensive wear to the enamels, firing flaws, a chip to the foot rim and a restored chip to the upper rim. The second in good condition with minor wear and minimal firing flaws, the upper rim with two hairlines.
