A ceramic blackware lidded jar comprising a biconvex body with flared neck and four flared lugs to the equator, conical base, bands of incised chevron detailing to the base, body and shoulder; domed discoid lid with central spike and four radiating lugs, incised lattice bands; each lug pierced at the base. 346 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). From an important English collection; acquired from Gorny & Mosch, Munich, Germany. Fine condition, small repair to inside edge of lid.
