1st century BC- early 1st century AD. A group of carved banded agate bowl fragments in a sympathetic modern transparent matrix, with slot below the rim. 180 grams, 15cm (6"). From a private family collection, 1980s; previously with Pierre Bergé & Associates, Paris, 29 November 2014 [10,000-12,000 euros]; supplied with geologic report No. TL005197, by geologic consultant Dr R. L. Bonewitz, and copies of the relevant Pierre Bergé catalogue pages. Fine condition, with museum quality restoration.
