3rd-2nd millennium BC. A restrung necklace of fusiform tubular carnelian beads with heavy gold interstitial panels each formed as three rings with spacers. 173 grams, 52cm (20 1/2"). Property of a central London collector; previously with Bonham's, London, 7 July 2016, lot 135; formerly with Mahboubian Gallery of Ancient Art, New York, USA, 1970s-1980s; acquired from an old private North American collection; accompanied by a copy of the purchase invoice, dated 21 March 1974 and the relevant Bonham's catalogue pages. Very fine condition. Rare.
