An unusual ceramic vessel in the form of a sitting owl, body details painted in vivid blue and red, the black wings tucked in, stylised head with large bulbous eyes, pupils painted in black; D-shaped opening with flat rim to the back of the head. 1.9 kg, 23cm (9"). From the property of a London gentleman; formerly in a UK collection, acquired in the 1990s; accompanied by a thermoluminescence certificate no. C118m96 from Oxford Authentication.
