A carved sandstone(?) figure of Buddha seated with legs folded in the single lotus position, fleshy body with beaded collar, nimbus behind the head with tiered headdress, holding an alms bowl in the right hand and gripping a serpent in the left hand; mounted on a custom-made stand. 46 kg, 62cm including stand (24 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired from his father's collection. Fine condition.
