A carved stone frieze fragment comprising a pediment with facing figure in conical headdress, arms extended to the sides and bent upwards, pelleted bracelets to the wrists, hands supporting a pair of bare feet with remains of a third foot offset; pecked lower edge; incised Brahmi(?) script legend on the forward face respecting the facing figure; mounted on a custom-made stand. 7.3 kg, 29cm width including stand (11 1/2"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired from his father's collection. Fair condition.
