A Cypro-Archaic I bichrome vessel with red and black encircling bands on the belly; on the shoulder and neck, series of concentric ring-and-dot motifs; with two handles linking body and rim and decorated with black saltires. 3.6 kg, 34.5cm (13 1/2"). Property of an Essex gentleman; acquired in London in 2010; formerly in the Tahsin collection, formed in the 1960s. Fine condition, chipped.
