An original R.B. Cycle Graphic camera made by the Folmer & Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak Company ca. 1907. The maroon leather bellows are housed in a mahogany interior bed frame with brass hardware, and the outside of the case is covered in black pebble grained leather. Brass screw nobs and track, to extend bellows lens. Original brass fittings and decorative and structural pieces. Lens housing stamped BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. Manufacturer plate to front R.B. Folmer & Schwing Manufacturing Company of New York City was founded in 1887 to manufacture gas lighting fixtures and bicycles. In around 1896 the firm began manufacturing cameras to compliment the growing interest in cameras mounted on bicycles. In 1898 Folmer & Schwing reportedly constructed the world�s largest camera. In 1905, George Eastman purchased the company, renaming it Folmer & Schwing Co. In 1907, the company officially dissolved, and became the Folmer & Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak. The camera features vertical tilt at front and back, and a triple extension of the bellows.
