Original wooden back adaptor and ground glass in frame. Original brass lens fittings EMIL BUSCH, A.G. RATHENOW, other incised markings to lens housing. Original lens. AGFA manufacturers plate to top of wooden housing, AGFA ANSCO BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK MADE IN U.S.A. to rear of wooden base. The Lens is unique with perfect aperture blades operated by the front rim, and an interesting focus mechanism. Nickel plated Brass front. Clear glass with cleaning wear on rear element. ANSCO was a photographic company based in Binghamton, New York, which produced photographic film, paper and cameras beginning in the mid-1800s. In 1928 ANSCO merged with the German firm AGFA to compete in the worldwide market with Kodak and Zeiss. In 1942, the U.S. government seized AGFA-ANSCO as a hostile alien property; it remained under government control through the 1960s.
