The sculptor and architect specialised in design, Crixo Aponte studied in France, Spain and Italy, where he developed his career as an architect and his passion as a sculptor. After his return to Venezuela, Aponte went deeply into sculpture, leaving his architectural profession in second place. Thus, interested in the sensuality inherent in volumetry, he gives life to abstract sculptures with a great organic charge, through which he manages to transcend the sculpture beyond the image and the material. They are works without beginning or end, attractive to the touch with profiles that seem to have been carved by water and wind, they are the conclusion of a study of form and its complex simplicity. For Aponte, his sculptures are responsible for creating a moment of creative contemplation between the spectator, the environment and the sculpture itself. His work can be found in private collections in Caracas, Stockholm, Sicily, Dakar, Monterrey, Oslo, Miami and New York.
