A rare Chinese brown-glazed tripod censer , Tang Dynasty, 8th-9th century, the globular body set on three cabriole legs, the underside partly unglazed revealing a light grey stoneware body, approximately 15cm high x 19cm wide A very similar black-glazed stoneware censer unearthed in 1999 at the site of Tang dynasty Xing kilns, Hebei province, is illustrated in Qian Nian Xing Yao (Xing Kiln in its Millennium), Beijing, 2007, p. 132.
