An attractive pair of Chinese ormolu mounted biscuit porcelain parrot candelabra, the porcelain Kangxi (1662-1722), the parrots glazed in turquoise and aubergine and the mounts finely cast with tied acanthus leaves to the rear of the bases and with chiselled oval bases supported on four feet, with spiral branches supporting flower scones, the mounts French, Louis XVI, second half 18th century, overall height 29cm and the parrots each approximately 21cm high (2) Provenance: Asher Wertheimer (1844-1918), a leading art dealer in London Ferdinand Joseph Conway Wertheimer by descent circa 1925 Mrs Joan Young Conway, wife of the above, by descent, 1953 By descent through the family 清康熙 三彩鹦鹉一对 拍品来源:伦敦著名古董商Asher Wertheimer (1844-1918),后由家族继承 Condition Report: one parrot broken in several places and with old glued repairs and while most pieces present some small filled repairs please see images for detailed reference to condition the other parrot with some loss of black enamel and old repair to tip of beak some overall wear to gilding commensurate with age
