Description: The Chinese jade delicately carved in shape of squared Gu vase, a bulbous central body with squared corners, gently tapering toward flared opening and foot. The mid-section is finely carved in shallow relief with archaic geometrical pattern simulating the Taotie masks of the seeing eyes. The trumpet neck and the tall splayed concave foot base with tropical leaves over finely polished plain ground. The rim and foot is carved with a set of four flanges on the side corners that start at the upper lip and follow down to the foot of the vessel. The pair of Jade GU vases displayed preciously upon carved hardwood stands. The composition is sophisticated and the jade shows pale-creme tone with attractive sporadic golden russet natural inclusions and moist milky appearance.
