Description: Octagonal plate with finely painted nishikide decoration on the upper side. In the foreground is a peacock (kujaku) standing on a rock, one leg lifted. The bird is an emblem of the deity kujaku myo-o. The long feathers are splendidly painted. Above it, in a circular, lobed reserve, is a courtly scene with daimyo and dignitaries. The filler spaces are contoured like clouds and feature blossoms and geometric patterning. On the bottom are blossoms and objects from samurai warriors. The signature KIN-ZAN 今 山 sei 製 (made this) inside multiple, golden rings, though the first character is unclear due to its stylization. Condition: Very well preserved Provenance: From an Austrian private collection, once acquired from the Galerie Zacke - corresponding label on the bottom
