Description: The first bowl with a hexagonal mouth. On the outside of the round walls are alternating holy rakkan with golden halos and bijin, female “beauties”, each of the figures seated in a diamond-shaped space. Inside the bowl is a scene full of figures in front of a temple complex, a pagoda tower and mountains in the background. The border around the mouth features a lined, triangular pattern; hanging into the image are uneven surfaces with spiral patterns. On the bottom, below the satsuma cross, is the signature HODODA 保 土 田. The second small, black-blue bowl with a beautiful, shiny glaze. The gilded mouth has five leaf-shaped points. Inside are two bijin (beautiful ladies) and a boy in a garden in front of a lookout pavilion with lanterns. Towards the mouth and on the outside, painted in gold, are blossoms and tendrils as well as a wavy border inside a frame. On the bottom are the characters for the name SHUZAN 珠 山. Condition: Very well preserved Provenance: From an Austrian private collection
