Description: Quadratic, four-legged lidded vessel with two handles. All four sides bear images. Two sansui landscapes with mountains, huts and water. Another of the paintings features a lady observing the landscape together with her children. The fourth image is full of figures and depicts bijin ladies picknicking in front of a building, a stone lamp (ishidoro) in the background. The four-edged, vaulted lid has a knob and floral open work. Very fine nishikide decoration features, among other things, tomo-e and lightning-bolt meander. On the bottom is the signature BI-ZAN 備山.
