Description: The smaller lidded box of square shape with a slightly domed cover. Covered in black polished lacquer and decorated in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with stalks of leafy bamboo, peonies and aoi-mon (hollyhock crests). The larger box of square shape and covered in black polished lacquer and decorated in gold hiramaki-e with scrolling vines and leaf-mon.
