A Dark bay racehorse oil on canvas 42 x 52cm Footnote: Provenance: Presumably acquired by John (1811-1908) or Algernon Dunn Gardner (1853-1929) and thence by descent Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The picture is in plane with good tension. The paint layers are stable overall but have suffered from abrasion and damage in the past. There are extensive areas of retouching in the background and some in the horses legs, although these are fairly well matched to the original. Gilding on the frame is worn but overall in a fine condition.
