A silver kettle and cover Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The body hammered with a textured dimpled ground and decorated in low relief with a fishing basket, tasselled canister, a wound ball of string, a gourd and an inro (medicine case), the shoulder applied with a sparrow at either side, the cover reticulated and surmounted by a gilt finial in the form of a pierced bead knop, the base stamped jungin (Pure silver); with a wood storage box. 21cm (8¼in) high.
