A bronze okimono of an eagle By the Kakuha Company, Takaoka, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Constructed in two separate parts, the eagle naturalistically rendered, perched on a detachable tall, gnarled and twisted stand formed from a section of wood, its head lowered, its wings outstretched in preparation for flight; signed on its belly Kakuha within an oval reserve. Overall height: 55.5cm (21 13/16in); wingspan: 46cm (18 1/8in) wide; the stand: 35cm (13¾in) high. (2).
