A cloisonné-enamel miniature portable kodansu (cabinet) By the Inaba workshop, Kyoto, Showa era (1926-1989), mid 20th century Of conventional form and inset with three matching removable drawers, worked in silver wire with a flamboyant decoration of different birds and flowers, the top applied with a gilt bracket handle and decorated with a ho-o bird in flight, one side with a sparrow among maple, the other with stems of peonies beneath plum branches, the back with a pair of pheasants beneath flowering plum branches, the drawers with a continuous design of a peacock standing beneath a cherry tree, all reserved on a black ground; the base signed in silver wire with the seal mark of the Inaba workshop. 9.5cm x 8.8cm x 5.1cm (3¾in x 3½in x 2in).
