Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1954 An oban yoko-e print, titled along the left margin Ikegami Honmonji no to (Pagoda at Honmon Temple, Ikegami) depicting the famed five-storied pagoda towering over tall cedar trees in the clearly lit sky with a full moon, shorter trees obscuring the hill upon which the pagoda stands, dated Showa nijukyunen saku (Work of Showa 29 [1954]), published by Watanabe Shozaburo, with a round Watanabe seal at the bottom right corner; signed Hasui with Kawase seal. 27cm x 39cm (10 5/8in x 15 3/8in).
