Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) Showa era (1926-1989), circa 1950s An oban yoko-e print titled along the bottom margin Nikko Shinbashi no yuki (Snow at Shin Bridge, Nikko), depicting snow falling silently on the red-coloured sacred Shin Bridge spanning over the Daiya River, leading to the Nikko Futarasan Shrine, dated Showa gonen saku (Work of Showa 5 [1930]), a later edition printed by Shobido, circa 1950s, (originally published by Sakai-Kawaguchi), with a red seal Shobi at the bottom margin; signed Hasui with Kawase seal. 28.6cm x 41.7cm (11¼in x 16 3/8in).
