Hashiguchi Goyo (1880-1921) Showa era (1926-1989), circa 1950 Two large tate-e keyblock proof prints: the first Futokoro kagami (A Pocket Mirror), depicting a woman in kimono looking into a mirror, a black cat sleeping behind her, dated and signed Taisho kyunen kugatsu Goyo ga (September, Taisho 9 [1920], painted by Goyo), with artist's round seal Hashiguchi Goyo on the lower right corner, 46.5cm x 29.7cm (18 5/16in x 11 11/16in); the second Tsume o kiru onna (Woman Clipping Her Toenails), depicting a woman crouched, clipping her nails, dated and signed Taisho kyunen jugatsu Goyo ga (October, Taisho 9 [1920], painted by Goyo) with artist's square seal on the upper right, 45.5cm x 32.5cm (17 7/8in x 12 13/16in).
