Hashiguchi Goyo (1880-1921) Showa era (1926-1989), circa 1950 A large tate-e keyblock and mica proof print of Kami o arau onna (A Woman Washing Her Hair), depicting a young naked woman, kneeling and bending forward washing her hair in a tub, dated and signed Taisho kyunen shichigatsu Goyo ga (July, Taisho 9 [1920], painted by Goyo) with artist's round seal Goyo on the middle right, the square family seal Hashiguchi, seals Suri Hirai Koichi (Printer Hirai Koichi) and Hori Maeda Kentaro (Carver Maeda Kentaro) and a further square seal on the lower left corner on the margin; on verso limited edition seal Hyaku gojubu genteiban, dai tokuhachi go (150 limited edition, special size, number 8) followed by publisher's seal Goyo hanga kenkyujo no in (Seal of the Goyo Prints Research Association). 47.2cm x 35.5cm (18 5/8in x 14in). 注脚 Designed in 1920 but posthumously published by the artist's family in the 1950s.
