The cover of rectangular form, the top and the sides carved with different panels, depicting Budai accompanied by two boys and immortals riding mythical animals, including a tiger, an elephant, a Buddhist lion, and a qilin, all amidst pine trees, craggy rockwork, and wispy clouds against a floral diaper ground. The red lacquered box raised on a square tray supported by four scalloped corner feet, the interior lacquered black.Condition: Overall very good condition with traces of age and wear.
