A SMALL JADE ‘BIRDS’ PENDANTJade. China, late Western Zhou to early Eastern Zhou, 8th-6th century BCFinely carved as a pair of birds, the feathers and plumage finely incised in a stylized manner. Pierced through the top for suspension as a pendant.Compare to a similar jade carving of a bird, excavated from the Rui state tomb in Shaanxi Province, illustrated in Golden Age of the Rui State, Shanghai, 2012, no. 118, p. 241.
