A FAMILLE VERTE ‘PHOENIX AND FLOWER’ DISH, QINGChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The wide curving dish with the interior finely painted with polychrome enamels, depicting peony flowerheads rising from leafy tree branches with a phoenix flying above, all surrounded with a band of floral sprays. The rim with a geometric diaper band with chrysanthemum flowers and ovoid reserves of fish and crabs. The backside with a band of leafy vines and flowers above four blooming floral sprays. The recessed base centered with an underglaze blue double circle.Condition: Good condition with minor surface wear, and with some firing irregularities including dark spots and pitting.
