A GROUP OF TWO SNUFF BOTTLES, REPUBLICChina, Republic period (1912-1949). Comprising a flattened spade shape porcelain snuff bottle, painted in cobalt blue with a phoenix amid blooming branches to either side, flanked by slightly raised mock handles splashed in blue, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong reign mark, the jade stopper with a bone spoon. The second a spinach green jade snuff bottle incised on either side with a blossom and highlighted in gilt, with a lapis lazuli stopper.Condition: The porcelain bottle in very good condition with minor manufacturing flaws. The jadeite bottle with small nicks along the rims and only partially hollowed.
