A RATTANAKOSIN SILVER REPOUSSE FIGURE OF A ‘WALKING BUDDHA’Thailand, 18th - 19th century. Cast as the walking Buddha, the left hand raised in abhaya mudra, the right elegantly lowered at the side, wearing a long samghati robe, covering his left shoulder. The face showing a serene expression with downcast eyes below elegantly arched brows, flanked by elongated earlobes, his hair tightly curled rising to a domed ushnisha with flame. Condition: Fine condition with traces of wear and age, some casting flaws, few nicks and dents, and a crack to the right leg. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
