A ceramic aquamanile formed as a standing feline with head inclined upwards, painted panels of decorative detailing to the flanks and chest, inset glass(?) eyes, filling tube behind the shoulders with strap handle from the rim, spout to the mouth, short legs with three-clawed feet. 1.2 kg, 23.5cm (9 1/4"). Property of a central London collector; previously with a central London gallery; accompanied by the original Thermoluminescence analysis report by The Research Laboratory for Archaeology and The History of Art, Oxford University, dated 16 June 1981.
