A large and well-formed bifacial axe with pointed butt and convex cutting edge, of heavy cross-section; in a translucent brown-grey flint with some small areas of original cortex and river valley gravels patination. 645 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). Property of a Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK collector; formerly in the Deeprose collection; found near Chichester, West Sussex, UK, in the 1950s. [No Reserve]Fine condition.
