Dimensions: 3-3/4" H x 16-1/4" Dia. Stunning, Chinese Ming Dynasty Yongle Reign Period, Blue and white Peony wrapped floral plate. Potted in shallow vessel form, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with a slightly flared lip and shallow draft. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The Interior center medallion and the mid outer adorned with abundant peony flowers blooms interspersed with scrolling foliage and tendril, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The outer mouth rim festooned with interlocking scrolling tendril and foliage, enclosed with thick fine blue ring line. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
