Ornately open-works carved backrest, wide rectangular hard mat and both arms panel carved with scrolling dragon. The whole supported on legs of rectangles square section joined by stepped stretchers on hoofed foot. This Chinese Arhat bed gives a strong and antique impression of luxury. It has distinctive form and elegant ornamentation. It is intact, with exquisite mortise-tenon technique. The zitan wood display smooth lustrous dense hardwood with dark purple-brown hues patina and feathery fine grain.
