Description: Blade: Shinogizukuri form with iorimune; hada possibly masame, though, like the hamon, which may be suguha, hardly recognizable. The blade’s tip (in relation to the blade’s entire length) o-gissaki. The tang has a mekugi-ana; o-sukikai-yasurime; the tip kirijiri, possible also shortened. Mountings: Black lacquer saya with finely sprinkled, variously colored bits of mother of pearl. The iron sayajiri (butt cap) has a decoratively curved form with inome as well as golden particles, as does the collar around the opening of the saya. The companion knife (kozuka) has decorative floral relief, its back gilded. The iron mokkogata-tsuba has an ishime surface structure, two hitsu. The fuchi-kashira, on the other hand, are made of iron with scattered, hammered-in gold particles. The menuki depict two of the popular fukujin (gods of good fortune), namely, Ebisu with carp and Daikoku with the bag of wealth.
