Chinese Ming Dynasty Zhengde Emperor Reign period Meiping vase. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form vase, with a narrow base, wide body, slender neck easing to form a petite opening. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The Exterior decorated with the sage immortals flying on the sky with flaming ruyi clouds, various tree and hovering imperial dragon above. Enclosed double fine blue ring on the below and upper the main body. The Neck adorned with upturning lappets, enclosed with double fine blue ring on the upper mouth rim. Scrolling ruyi clouds and big flower blooms decorated on the shoulder. The foot rim decorated with auspicious pattern and repeating key fret on the foot base rim. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze cobalt blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy and shading to the design. The glaze stopping before the foot rim, revealed the pale-creme ground, with orange and grayish firing marks. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel "ju-pi" (chu-p'i) or a d chicken skin. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.


The under-base bears an Emperor Reign period mark, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Made in The Years of Zhengde Emperor Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
