A Chinese carved white jade teapot dating from the Ming dynasty. The lid is carved with a beast and a ruyi band, while the teapot is carved with lotuses around the body. Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 3 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The handle has been repaired. Provenance: From Mr. & Mrs. Yuen in Minnesota. Mrs. Yuen's father, Chen Kangjue, operated an antiques shop in Yan'an Road, Shanghai from 1940 to 1966.
