A Chinese rectangular white jade plaque carved with a mythical beast dating from the Ming dynasty. The plaque has been converted into a pendant, which has been stamped 18K. Dimensions are: 2 3/8 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is 1 small chip in 1 corner, overall good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Levin. Mr. Levin was the US Consul General to Hong Kong in the 1980s, and later served as the US Ambassador to Burma from 1987 to 1990.
