A Chinese rectangular bronze incense burner with 4 legs, a 6-character Xuande mark on the bottom, and dating from the 18th century or earlier. Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor age wear. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Martinson in northern Minnesota. Mr. Martinson's grandparents Andrew and Anna Martinson went to China in 1903 and Mr. Andrew Martinson died in China in 1913; the couple's son, Mr. Harold Martinson, our collector's father, was born in China, as was Mr. Martinson himself in 1931.
