Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, blue & white funnel type porcelain bottle. The Porcelain potted in funnel shape, thick and slight tall, bulbous lower body, reverse bowl, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent straight tall cylindrical neck, close open lip raised with waves shape rim foot base. All reserved in hand painting ornamentations, rendered in clean white under glazed ground color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine design color. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The Exterior reverse bowl decorated with floral geometric petals and auspicious pattern, enclosed with single thick blue ring line. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on rim, a horizontalsix under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Xuande Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
