Seven fuchi-gashira (hilt collars and pommels) Edo period (1615-1868), 18th to 19th century Four of shibuichi, two of shakudo, and one of copper, decorated in a variety of chiselling and inlay techniques, the first with paulownia leaves and branches, stamped 22; the second with waves and spray, with signature Omori Teruhide and a kao; the third with bamboo; the fourth with mallow flowers; the fifth with a butterfly, bamboo, and stream, with signature Soyo and a kao; the sixth with peonies, signed Ichibosai Hogen Akichika (Sawaki Akitatsu, pupil of Shunmei Hogen and specialist in peony decoration) with a kao; the last with cherry blossoms.
