A Satsuma circular plate By Kinkozan, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Decorated in enamels and gilt with a winding procession depicting retainers and attendants belonging to the household of the Tokugawa shogun as inscribed in the banner in the foreground, Tokugawa joshi joraku, carrying all their paraphernalia en route to the Emperor's palace in Kyoto, bordered within a narrow band of shippo-tsunagi (linked cash) and geometric motifs; signed on the underside with seal Kinkozan. 27cm (10 5/8in) diam.
