A Chinese Fahua 'boys and peach' water pot, late Ming dynasty, modelled as three boys supporting a water pot in the form of a large peach on their backs, 13cm highProvenance: Christie's South Kensington, Oriental Works of Art, 2nd April 1998, lot 311清晚期 琺華三子捧壽水盂來源:倫敦南肯辛頓佳士得,1998年4月2日,拍品編號311。Note: The peach is a symbol of longevity, and is also a homophone with 'wash' (táo). The group of boys holding up the large peach are symbolic of fertility, and convey a wish for many children. 品相報告 Condition Report: A loss to the end of one of the peach leaves. Some glaze flaws present, with pitting in some areas. A deep scratch/surface crack to a portion of one of the boy's robes. Surface wear commensurate with age.
