A Chinese Dehua porcelain figure group of Tudi and attendants, Kangxi period, modelled seated on a throne between two attendants, one holding a tablet, the demi-lune base inscribed 'zhaocai', moulded with a flowerhead and leaves issuing from rockwork, covered in an allover cream glaze, 18.1cm highProvenance: Previously in a Private European collection, purchased from Kleykamp in The Hague, Netherlands, circa 1925.清康熙 德化白釉土地神坐像來源:前歐洲私人收藏。約1925年購自荷蘭海牙Kleykamp。c.f. Included by Marchant in their exhibition of Blanc de Chine, 2014, no.39. A pair of similar figures with French ormolu mounts is illustrated by Regina Krahl in 'Chinese Ceramics from The Meiyintang Collection', vol. 2, no. 1011, pp.308/9. Another related figure probably described in the 1688 inventory at Burghley House, England, is illustrated by Gordon Lang in 'Chinese and Japanese Porcelain from the Collection of the Earls of Exeter, no.235, p.90.Note: The inscription zhaocai translates as 'bringing money', an auspicious message that wishes the recipient prosperity and good fortune. 品相報告 Condition Report: Some firing flaws present, light surface wear commensurate with age - however in good condition overall.
