In 1939, he emigrated to France where he fought in the French Resistance Army against the Nazi invasion. Alone and without resources, he survived for a time in wartime France, and enrolled for a course in painting given by Mr. Espinasse and sculpture lessons given by Mr. Manin at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Toulouse (Toulouse Fine Arts College) form which he graduated (1942-1948). Today, Lebadang’s works are in the collections of the Cincinnati Museum of Art, the Rockefeller Collection in New York, and the Phoenix Museum of Art, among others.
