A high relief figure of a Saint with a church model, probably Austrian, around 1500 Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and deeply hollowed out. With remains of older polychromy. A large figure of a saint standing in a gently swaying pose designed for a frontal viewpoint. The slightly crossed feet are noticeably splayed. The youthful saint wears a large headdress, plain pleated robe, a richly draped cloak pulled across the body, and fashionable pointed shoes. The church model which the saint holds could potentially identify him as the Austrian Margrave Leopold III (1073-1136), who was canonised in 1485. With repairs to the shoulders and the plinth. Wohl Österreich um 1500, Heiliger mit Kirchenmodell Holz, dreiviertelrund geschnitzt, auf der Rückseite abgeflacht und tief ausgehöhlt. Reste einer ehemaligen farbigen Fassung. Auf Vorderansicht gestaltete großformatige Darstellung eines in maßvollem Kontrapost stehenden Heiligen, wobei die leicht überkreuzten Füße markant nach außen gestellt sind. Der jugendliche Heilige trägt eine breitkrempige Kopfbedeckung, ein schlichtes gefälteltes Untergewand und einen faltenreich um den Körper geschlungenen Mantel sowie modisch spitz zulaufende Schuhe. Das von ihm vor dem Körper gehaltene Kirchenmodell erlaubt zumindest die Vermutung, dass es sich in dieser Skulptur um eine Darstellung des 1485 heiliggesprochenen österreichischen Markgrafen Leopold III.
