A PAIR OF INLAID LACQUERD WOOD PANELS, LATE QINGChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The wood panels inlaid with bone, wood, hardstones, and mother of pearl, depicting a continuous scene of children playing in a garden underneath blossoming peach and prunus trees, with gold painted details including clouds, flowers, and a fence, all within a floral border. The reverses decorated with butterflies, insects, vegetables, and floral designs, one panel bearing a large four-character seal mark. Both panels framed, each with a metal hook for wall suspension.Condition: Overall fine condition with traces of wear and age, losses to lacquer, natural age cracks, nicks, and surface scratches.
