A SMALL HARDSTONE `RUYI SCEPTER´ PENDANT, c 1920sChina, Republic period (1912-1949). The ruyi-shaped head is finely carved with a boy, peaches and a bat, the handle carved with ornamental designs, the pointed tip pierced for suspension. The stone of a deep forest-green tone with brown and yellow inclusions.Condition: Very good condition with surface wear and tiny notches here and there. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
